I have deactivated my HDFC fastag for my old car which I sold. It has a balance of Rs 1090. I purchased new car and dealer offered me mandatory IDFC fastag. Now how can I transfer balance from HDFC to IDFC or vice versa.

You have to surrender your previous tag otherwise the new owner of your old car will not be able to purchase another tag in his name. Once you raise a surrender request with the FASTag issuer bank HDFC & close your wallet, you will receive the unused amount refunded back to your account.
