How to add name in the birth certificate for a person born in 1980s in Kerala?

As per Kerala Registration of (Births and Deaths) Amendment rules, 2015, which came into effect on 23/5/2015, time limit has been prescribed for name entry.

In the case of births registered after the date of the amendment, name should be entered within 15 years from the date of registration and in the case of births registered prior to the amendment, name entry should be made within 5 years from the date of the amendment. That means in the case of births registered before 23/5/2015, the time allowed for name entry expired on 22/5/2020.

But considering the Covid lockdown restrictions and the fact that general public is not aware of such an amendment in rules it is learned that there is a proposal to further amend the rules and extend the period for name entry. Until such an amendment comes name cannot be entered in this case.
