What is Baal Aadhar Card or Aadhar for kids?

The UIDAI has launched a drive to a new variant of Aadhar card meant for kids known as Baal Aadhaar Card. The Baal Aadhar is issued to kids who are aged below 5 years and there is no need for them to provide any biometric information while getting registered for Aadhar. To differentiate between the Aadhar card meant for adults and kids, the UIDAI issues Baal Aadhar in blue color for kids who are aged below 5 years. Mostof the government IDs are issued to citizens of India after attaining 18 years of age. But Aadhar is the only such document which even a newborn can enrol for.
