What will happen if agricultural land is put to Non-Agricultural use without obtaining the required NOC in Assam?

There is provision for the realization of the penalty for putting agricultural land to Non-Agricultural use without obtaining NOC. Such land shall be deemed to have been reclassified upon realization of penalty at following rates:

  • For the land which has not been cultivated at least for the last ten years: @2x reclassification premium chargeable while according to NOC.
  • For land under cultivation during the period of ten years: @5x reclassification premium chargeable while according to NOC with prior approval of the Government.
