Under the Jhatpat Connection Yojana, the applicant can take a new electricity connection through online service. To facilitate the applicants for applying for a new electricity connection, Jhatpat Connection Portal is provided on the UPPCL website.

Benefits of Jhatpat Connection Yojana

Following are the benefits of Jhatpat Scheme/Facilities provided on Jhatpat Connection Portal- 

  • Applicants need not to visit the electricity office. Overall process can be completed in online mode which includes online filling of application form, uploading necessary documents, payment of processing fee and estimation cost. 

  • Applicants can provide three dates of his/her choice for site inspection visit as well as for meter installation through online portal. Departmental employees shall visit the applicant’s premises on one of the three dates provided by the applicant. 

  • Applicants can track his/her application at each step through the portal. 

  • Applicants are able to see timelines for completion of each step as set by the department. 

  • After completion of each step, an SMS/email is sent to the applicant's mobile number/email id.

How Much Kilowatts of Connection can One Applicant take under this Scheme?

Through this portal applicants can apply for New Electricity Connection of 1 KW to 500 KW Load for Domestic and 1 KW to 49 KW Load for Government Institutional / Temporary purposes only. For 1 KW of connection, BPL and non BPL users both can apply.

How to Register for Jhatpat Connection Yojana?

Follow the below steps to register for Jhatpat Connection.

  • Visit the UPPCL Portal.

  • Click on ‘Apply for New Electricity Connection (Jhatpat Connection)’, under ‘Connection Services’.

  • A single window system to apply for a new electricity connection will open on your screen.

  • Click on ‘For new registration click here’.

  • Enter the required details such as- name, date of birth, e-mail, mobile number.

  • Enter the captcha.

  • Click on ‘Register’.

  • An OTP will be sent on the entered mobile number. Enter the OTP.

  • Once the registration is complete, the login credentials will be forwarded to the mobile number.

Documents Required for New Connection under Jhatpat Connection Yojana

  • Id Proof

    • PAN Card/Passport

  • House Occupancy Proof

In case of rent agreement, 

  • NOC/Indemnity bond 

  • Work Completion Certificate/B&L form (Electrical Fitting Certificate)

In case of domestic connection

  • A self-certified declaration form can be submitted in place of B&L form.

Process Flow of Taking New Electricity Connection through Jhatpat Connection Portal?

The process flow is as below- 

  • First the applicant has to register on the portal to get login credentials. 

  • After login, the applicant will fill the application form with basic details such as name, address etc. He /She will also upload photos and relevant documents. 

  • Applicant will submit the processing fee through online mode such as debit card/credit card/net banking or wallet. At this step, applicant will also select three dates for site inspection among the seven consecutive dates from processing fee payment date. 

  • Applicant will wait for site inspection by departmental employees. Site inspection will be done on one of the dates provided by the applicant. Intimation of the date will also be reflected on the portal as well as on the applicant's registered mobile number. 

  • Once the site inspection is completed, He/she will be able to see head wise estimation costs to be paid. 

  • Applicant will submit the estimation fee through online/offline mode. 

  • After submitting estimation fee, the applicant will confirm the readiness of the site for meter installation. Here also, He/she has to select three dates for meter installation among the 14 consecutive dates from estimation cost payment date. Meter will be installed on one of the dates provided by the applicant. Date of meter installation shall be intimated through SMS. 

  • After installation of meter, account id of the connection will be generated and provided to the applicant through portal and SMS.

How to Login to the Jhatpat Connection Portal?

Follow the below steps to login to the Jhatpat Connection Portal.

  • Visit the UPPCL Portal.

  • Click on ‘Apply for New Electricity Connection (Jhatpat Connection)’, under ‘Connection Services’.

  • The login window will open on your screen.

  • Login using your login credentials.

  • Enter the captcha.

  • After first login, the applicant will be redirected to the Change Password page where he/she will have to change his/her auto-generated password for security reasons.

  • The Applicant will have to fill New Password and Retype New Password in the respective fields and click on ‘Create Password button’. After which a new password will be generated and applicants will have to re-login through their Login ID & New Password.
