How to request for Veterinary Health Certificate in Dubai?

This service enables you to obtain a veterinary health certificate for owned live animals, or a health certificate for veterinary materials and products to export or re-export them, after ensuring animals and animal products are safe and free from transmissible and infectious diseases, and giving the necessary vaccines according to the approved health requirements.

Documents Required

  • Vaccination certificate according to the requirements of the country of destination.

  • Animal identification number.

  • Laboratory test reports as required by the country of destination (if the certificate was requested for the export).

  • Certificate of origin issued by the concerned federal or local government authorities in the UAE.

  • Copy of the sales invoice.

  • Live animal Health Certificate (vaccination record and immunity validity). 

How to request for a Veterinary Health Card in Dubai?

  • Login to Dubai Municipality website.

  • Apply for the service.

  • Check Dubai Municipality's reply through the website (Approved/Rejected/To be Amended or Completed).

  • Pay the due fees.

  • Receive the certificate from:

    • Veterinary Services Office - Veterinary Quarantine

    • Cattle market or Al Khawaneej Veterinary Clinic - Wadi Al Amardi

    • Hatta Veterinary Clinic- Hatta

    • Al Lissaily Veterinary Clinic - Al Lissaily

    • Veterinary Services Office - Al Warsan Birds and Animal market.

  • Veterinary certificate for a live animal:

    • Outside clinics: 1 working day

    • Inside clinics: Instantly.

Fees Required

Veterinary Health Certificate for live animals (per head):

  • Cows or camels: AED 5

  • Sheep or goats: AED 2

  • Dogs or cats: AED 30

  • Small birds: AED 10

  • Large birds: AED 30

  • Other animals: AED 30

  • Laboratory animals: AED 2

  • Poultry: AED 1.

Veterinary Health Certificate:

  • Forage and animal feed: AED 200

  • Carcass by-products AED 50 (per ton)

  • Leather and wool: AED 250 (per container).

Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20 for each invoice exceeding AED 50.

Terms and Conditions

  • A veterinary health certificate for owned live animals is only issued after undertaking the necessary laboratory or veterinary tests to ensure they are safe and free from transmissible and infectious diseases, and after giving them necessary vaccines according to the approved health requirements.

  • Owned live animals must be identified by numbering them or implanting them with microchips before applying for a veterinary health certificate.

  • You must bring back the animal upon health certificate expiry, for examination and verification of the vaccines validity, before the certificate is renewed.

  • The certificate is valid for 1 month from the date of its issuance.

  • You must apply for the service through the call centre 800900, if you had more then 5 animals.

  • The Veterinary Health Certificate for owned live animals includes:

    • Pets

    • Laboratory animals

    • Producing Poultry

    • Animals for zoo display

    • Farm animals and camels

    • Horses, etc.

  • The veterinary health certificate is issued for the purpose of exporting or re-exporting animal materials and products after carrying out the necessary laboratory or veterinary tests, to ensure their safety and compliance with the approved health standards.

  • The veterinary health certificate for the export or re-export of animal materials and products covers:

    • Forage: barley, wheat bran, bird feed, concentrate feeds, etc.

    • Pet food

    • Veterinary equipment and supplies

    • Animal by-products: leather, intestine, and wool.
