How to apply for a temporary electricity supply for construction sites in Dubai?

This service enables you to obtain a No Objection to temporarily connect electricity to buildings prior to their completion, to ensure the proper functioning of electro-mechanical systems, elevators, and safety, security and fire protection systems, etc.

How to apply for a temporary electricity supply for construction sites in Dubai?

  • Login to Dubai Building Permit System.

  • Apply for the service .

  • Pay the due fees.

  • Check Dubai Municipality's reply (Approved/Rejected) with the site inspection date through the electronic system, or by e-mail and SMS ( the attendance of consultant & contractor during DM site inspection is not required).

  • Receive the electronic NOC through the system, in case of approval.

  • Site Inspection: AED 100 per single inspection

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Terms & Conditions

  • This service obtain to temporary connect electricity for (new building permit), for multi-storey buildings, and shopping centers.

  • If the application was rejected, the contractor must re-apply after fulfilling the municipality's remarks.

  • Expired approval for temporary connection cannot be extended, and you have to submit a new application with new fees and deposits, if you need to extend the period.

  • You can apply for a new application for this service in case of having an active approval with time granted.

  • You can only apply for this service after the installation and readiness of the building's operational systems mentioned above, and the completion of the construction works that qualify the building for technical inspection.

  • The approval does not allow you to partially or fully operate the building before the completion certificate is issued.

  • You must apply for the completion certificate during the period of temporary connection as specified in the NOC. The services are disconnected in case of noncompliance with the mentioned condition.

  • Applications submitted prior to 12:00am are considered to be applied and scheduled in the next working day, if accepted.

  • The presence of consultant and contractor on the site during Dubai municipality engineer’s inspection is not required. 

  • For inquiries or technical support send a general message through the service available in the Dubai Building Permit System (BPS) step 1 by selecting the message category (Engineering Supervision Services/Structural Inspection/Completion & Connection of Utility Services/Temporary Connection of Utility Services/Deposit Refund/Night Work).
