Beneficiaries of Mangalya - Scheme of Widow Remarriage

Women belonging to the age group of 18 – 50 yrs who are legally divorced and widowed.   

Benefits of Mangalya - Scheme of Widow Remarriage

The scheme of Widow Remarriage - Mangalya imparts financial assistance for the widows/divorced to remarry. Kerala government provides financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/- is provided for eligible widows and divorced women.

Eligibility criteria for Mangalya - Scheme of Widow Remarriage

Remarriage certificate (remarriage taken place before the respective registrar) should be produced.  

Documents required for application of Mangalya - Scheme of Widow Remarriage

Following are the documents required for the application of Scheme of Widow Remarriage - Mangalya

  • Proof of first marriage.

  • Death certificate of the first husband.

  • Legal document of divorce.

  • Proof of BPL category.

  • Proof of age in the form of a school leaving certificate or certificate issued by the competent authority.

  • Proof of Remarriage Certificate.    

Implementing Agency of Mangalya - Scheme of Widow Remarriage

The application should be forwarded to District Women and Child Officers through Child Development Project Officers.
