How to apply for a permit to advertise on vehicles in Dubai?

This service enables you to obtain a permit to put an advertising sticker on commercial vehicles after meeting special conditions and technical specifications.

Documents Required to apply for a permit to advertise on vehicles in Dubai

For commercial vehicles and motorcycles

1. Ad design of the vehicle/motorcycle's 4 sides + mock-up
2. Copy of the trade licence issued in Dubai.

For other vehicles

1. Ad design of the vehicle’s 4 sides + mock-up
2. Letter of request addressed to the Roads and Transport Authority to add an advertising sticker, explaining the nature of the activity
3. Copy of the trade licence issued in Dubai.

For Trailer and semi trailer/mobile advertising vehicles

1. Ad design of the vehicle’s 4 sides + mock-up
2. Copy of the trade licence - Advertising activity, issued in Dubai.

How to apply for a permit to advertise on vehicles in Dubai?

• The customer logs in to the website using his username and password.

• The customer selects the Advertising on Vehicles service.

• The customer uploads the scanned required documents and receives a number for the transaction through email and SMS.

• The concerned parties at RTA study the application technically.

• The customer receives the approval or the rejection of the application through the website, email and SMS.

• In case of approval, the customer settles the required fees online through the Advertising System or by cash through Customer Happiness Centres Umm Ramool and Al Barsha.

• The customer prints the permit through the Advertising System.

• +20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees.

Time Required

• 10 minutes.

Validity

The validity varies according to the type of the advertisement and the event.

Terms and Conditions

• Arabic language must not be less than 50% of the advertising content.

• The company's trade name in Arabic should be exactly as stated on the trade licence and the vehicle ownership.

• An approval from the investigation department in Dubai Police is required in case of changing the vehicle's original colour.

• If the advertisement was related to real estate brokerage/real estate, the customer is required to present a No Objection Certificate from the Dubai Land Department.

• In case of a rented vehicle, the customer is required to present a No Objection Certificate for placing the sticker from the leasing company.

• For advertisements on trailers, semi trailers and mobile advertising vehicles, the customer must get the approval of the Vehicle Licensing Department.

• In case the agency was from outside the country the advertisement must be stamped by the embassy/consulate.

• If the advertisement was for a brand, the customer must present the ownership of the trademark that's registered at the Ministry of Economy, or the owner's NOC ratified by the notary.

• The companies registered in Dubai SME benefit from a 50% discount. The company must enclose an official letter with the application.

• In case of changing the vehicle's colour for an advertising sticker, the customer must check with the Licensing Agency to update the vehicle's information after adding the sticker.

• The following points must be observed when designing the advertisement

  • Smoking symbols in all their forms are not allowed.

  • Flags of countries are not allowed.

  • Religious slogans or symbols are not allowed.

  • Images that violate public morality are not allowed.

  • Other languages (excluding Arabic and English) are not allowed.

  • 3D images are not allowed.

  • Images on the front upper part of the vehicle are not allowed.

  • Images of real people are not allowed.

• The advertisement must not be placed on the vehicle windscreen.

• The advertisement must not include a lot of expressions on one side (images and text).

• The maximum number of images on each side of the vehicle is 5.

• The company must not write an activity that is not mentioned in the trade licence.

• The design must comply with the data on the trade licence and vehicle ownership.

• The customer must pay 100 AED to replace a lost or damaged permit or amend the permit data.

• For more information about the approval or the rejection of the application, the customer can check the Advertising System through the application number or vehicle number.
