How to apply for livestock slaughter in Dubai?

This service enables you to obtain livestock slaughtering services in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia as well as livestock veterinary safety inspection before and after the slaughter, in addition to carcass chilling and delivery.

How to apply for livestock slaughter in Dubai?

Individuals and charities:

  • Deliver the livestock to one of Dubai Municipality's abattoirs.

  • Provide your information (name – mobile  number - e-mail) to data entry employee to register it.

  • Receive a text message from Dubai Municipality and present it to veterinarian.

  • Deliver the livestock to veterinary inspection point before slaughter and receive your payment voucher via SMS from Dubai Municipality.

  • Pay the due fees at the abattoir's cash register.

  • Deliver the livestock to abattoirs’ laborer at the livestock receiving area.

  • Receive the carcass at carcass’s cutting counter after presenting the number from the text message

Trader & company:

  • Visit Al Qusais abattoir and submit an application to get a unique number for your company in case of  new registration (bring a copy of the commercial license). 

  • Receive the unique number of your company or shop.

  • Deliver the livestock to lairage 12 to 18 hours before slaughtering time.

  • Provide company or trader representative‘s data to data entry employee to register it and receive a text message from Dubai Municipality.

  • Present the text message to the veterinarian and receive your payment voucher via SMS from Dubai Municipality.

  • Pay the due fees at the abattoir's cash register..

  • Receive carcasses after 24 hours from the refrigerators loading area.

Documents Required

  • No documents required .

Time Required

For individuals and charities:

  • 45 minutes: for small livestock (goats and lambs) after the numbering process.

  • 60 minutes: for big livestock (camels and cows), after the numbering process.

For companies:

  • 3 days after the livestock delivery to the abattoir.

Fees Required to apply for livestock slaughter in Dubai

Livestock slaughter (individuals):

Fees are calculated depending on the livestock size and type:

  • Sheep/Goats: AED 15

  • Calves: AED 30

  • Cows: AED 40 - 55 (according to the animal's height)

  • Camels: AED 60 - 65

  • Knowledge and Innovation fees: AED 20.

Livestock slaughter (Tenants of municipal assets):

Fees are calculated depending on the livestock size and type:

  • Sheep/Goats:

    • AED 10 if less than 100

    • AED 15 if more than 100.

  • Calves: AED 25

  • Cows: AED 35 - 55

  • Camels: AED 60 - 65

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

(Livestock slaughter (Tenants of municipal assets):(meat and ive stock trader ):

Fees are calculated depending on the livestock size and type:

  • Sheep/Goats: AED 7.5

  • Calves: AED 15

  • Cows: AED 20 - 27.5 (according to the animal's height)

  • Camels: AED 30 - 32.5

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Livestock slaughter - Special care:

  • Small: AED 30

  • Big: AED 100

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Carcass cutting - Normal cutting (individuals):

Fees are calculated depending on the livestock size and type

  • Small carcasses (Sheep, goats): AED 10

  • Big carcasses

  • Calves carcasses: AED 20

  • Cows carcasses: AED 25 - 30

  • Camels: AED 35.

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Carcass cutting - Special cutting (individuals):

  • Small: AED 50

  • Big: AED 100

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Carcass chilling:

Fees are counted 2 days after placing carcasses in the chillers and for a maximum period of 6 days:

  • Small: AED 5

  • Big: AED 20

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Carcass delivery:

Delivery service is available for a minimum of 50 carcasses

  • Small carcasses: in Dubai: AED 3, outside Dubai AED 5

  • Big carcasses: in Dubai: AED 10, outside Dubai AED 15

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Sale of edible organs (fit for human consumption):

  • The carcass's owner is entitled to claim its remains (intestines) as follows:

  • Small carcass: AED 5

  • Big carcass: AED 10

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: AED 20.

Meat bags:

  • First bag: Free

  • Each additional bag: AED 1.

Rental of livestock lairage (Pens):

  • Per Day: AED 50 to be counted starting the second day of livestock delivery

  • Knowledge and Innovation Fees: 

    AED 20.

Terms and Conditions

  • Lairage fees are calculated starting the following day and the abattoir is not responsible for their feeding.

  • Carcass chilling fees are counted 2 days after placing carcasses in the chillers.

  • Carcasses can be kept in chillers for a maximum of 6 days after which, the abattoir reserves the right to confiscate them.

  • The abattoir retains the skin and the intestines (the owner can ask for the intestine and pay cleaning fees).

  • Carcass delivery service is available in and outside Dubai, if the number of carcasses exceeded 50.

  • Tenants of municipal assets can benefit from the carcasses delivery service.

  • The municipality abattoir is not liable to any compensations related to the disposal of carcasses that do not meet the health and safety standards. In which case, the carcass owner receives a health certificate clarifying the results of the veterinary examination. 

  • Lairage rental and carcass chilling services are provided to meat traders in Al-Qusais abattoir only.

  • People of determination and Thukher card holders (senior citizens) can benefit from the livestock purchase, slaughter and home delivery service.
