How to apply for a certificate to use the vehicle outside the UAE for tourism purposes?

This service enables you to apply for a tourism certificate for vehicles registered in Dubai.

Eligibility Criteria

Individual customers, citizens and residents, and companies in Dubai are eligible to apply for this service.

Documents Required

For vehicles owned by individuals

  1. Original Emirates ID

  2. Vehicle ownership certificate

  3. Electronic No Objection Certificate (eNOC) from the mortgagee if the vehicle was under mortgage

  4. NOC from the Emirates Motorsports Organization in all cases except for citizens, diplomatic and governmental corps and GCC citizens who want to use their vehicles within GCC countries.

For vehicles owned by companies

  1. Official letter in Arabic from the company requesting a tourism certificate

  2. Copy of the trade licence

  3. Endorsement of signature and authorisation letter

  4. Electronic NOC from the mortgagee if the vehicle was under mortgage

  5. Vehicle ownership certificate

  6. NOC from the Emirates Motorsports Organization.

How to apply for a certificate to use the vehicle outside the UAE for tourism purposes?

  • The customer heads to the front desk employee at Customer Happiness Centre or Vehicle Registration and Inspection Centres

  • The employee sends a link to the customer.

  • The customer uploads the required documents through the link.

  • The customer receives the transaction code.

  • The customer submits the transaction code to the front desk employee to complete the service process, check and electronically sign the application.

  • The customer settles the required fees.

  • The customer receives the electronic certificate through SMS and e-mail.

Fees Required

  • 100 AED light vehicle

  • 100 AED vehicle between 3 and 12 tonnes

  • 200 AED vehicle exceeding 12 tonnes

  • 100 AED light mechanical equipment

  • 200 AED heavy mechanical equipment

  • 100 AED bus with a number of passengers between 14 and 26

  • 200 AED bus with a number of passengers exceeding 26

  • 100 AED motorcycle

  • +20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees

  • +50 AED for issuing the customs book.

Time Required

  • 5 minutes.

Validity

6 months.

Terms and Conditions

  • The customer or the legal representative must be present in person.

  • The customer is required to settle all the traffic fines before receiving this service.

  • If a person other than the owner is driving the vehicle, he must provide an authorisation from the owner to proceed with the service. Otherwise, the owner of the vehicle must be present in person and must provide a copy of the driver's driving licence.

  • For citizens and GCC citizens: the customer must provide an NOC from the Emirates Motorsports Organization if he is willing to drive the vehicle outside the GCC.

  • In case of transporting the vehicle through a cargo company, the customer must add the name of the company to the Tourism Certificate.

  • Citizens who travel in their vehicles to any of the GCC countries do not need an NOC from the Emirates Motorsports Organisation nor a tourism certificate from RTA. However, residents must obtain an NOC from the Emirates Motorsports Organisation and a tourism certificate from RTA.
