My Sunni muslim family does not possess any land or house but my grand father has land which he has yet to distribute among his offsprings. I applied for Ews certificate . I am being denied as my mother may receive a share which works out little more than 100 square yards. That is going to happen after he distribute it or after his death. As my octogenarian ailing grand parents may have to dispose off part of it for treatment and other unseen expenditure. At this stage it is not presumable how much share my mother gets ultimatly. Are the revenue authorities justified to deny me Ews certificate on this ground at this stage.?

Persons who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs and whose family has gross annual income below Rs 8.00 lakh are to be identified as EWSs for benefit of reservation. To the best of my knowledge, as you are a Muslim and belong to OBC, you are not eligible to apply for EWS Certificate.
