What is the interest rate for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account?

The scheme currently provides an interest rate of 8.5 and tax benefits. As notified by the Government of India, the interest is compounded annually. This is 100% tax free account.
The deposited or withdrawal amount from this account is exempted from tax. The interest rate is increased from 8.1% to 8.5% for 2018-2019.
