Ladli Scheme is launched by the Government of Haryana to fight against female foeticide and promote proper rearing of the girl children, while also providing them the right to birth and survival.

It also seeks to improve the declining sex ratio of females and increase the number of girls in the families.

Objectives of Haryana Ladli Scheme

Following are the objectives of Haryana Ladli Scheme

  • To raise the status of girl child in the family and the society.

  • To create awareness and acceptance regarding the birth of a girl child.

  • To increase the sex ratio in the state of Haryana

  • To provide good education to all the females in the State of Haryana.

Beneficiaries of Haryana Ladli Scheme

The girl children of parents are the beneficiaries of this scheme.

Benefits of Haryana Ladli Scheme

Following are the benefits of Haryana Ladli Scheme.

  • Rs. 5,000 per year per family for a period of five years.

  • In cases where twin daughters are born, the first installment will be given within the first month of birth of the second girl child. The remaining installments will be given on the birthday of the second daughter, every year. However, in case of the death of either of the girls, the incentive will stop with immediate effect.

Eligibility Criteria for applying Haryana Ladli Scheme

Following are the eligibility criteria for applying Haryana Ladli Scheme.

  • The girl child and her parents have to be residents of the State of Haryana.

  • They should have a domicile certificate to prove their eligibility.

  • It is mandatory for at least one parent to reside in Haryana with the girl child.

  • There should be two girl children in the family.

  • The second girl child should be born on or after the 20th of August 2005 to be eligible under the scheme.

  • The pregnant woman should be registered with the nearest Anganwadi Center.

  • The birth of the girl child should be duly registered.

  • The girl child has to be enrolled at the nearest Anganwadi Center.

  • The girl child has to be duly immunized as per the requirements of the state and such immunization records have to be presented if required at the time of receiving the payment under the scheme.

Documents required for applying Haryana Ladli Scheme

Following are the documents required for the application process.

  • Duly filled Application Form for Ladli Scheme

  • Identity proof of the Parents or the Legal Guardians of the girl child (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter Id Card, Driving License, etc.)

  • Address proof of the Parents or the Legal Guardian of the girl child (Aadhaar Card, Voter Card, Utility Bills, PAN Card, etc.)

  • Domicile Certificate of the Parents

  • BPL Card (if available)

  • Income Certificate of the Parents

  • Birth Certificate of the girl child

  • Caste Certificate of the parents

  • Recent Passport Size Photographs of the girl child

  • Bank Account details of the Mother (copy of the first page of the passbook of such bank account can be submitted)

How to apply for Haryana Ladli Scheme?

  • To obtain benefits under the Ladli scheme, the mother/father or guardian of the girl children should apply on the prescribed proforma, available at the Anganwadi Centres or in the offices of Child Development Project Officers in the rural and urban areas free of cost. 

  • The filled application form should be submitted to the Anganwadi Workers and Health staff of the concerned areas.
