How to get HK Region Residence and Eligibility Certificate in Karnataka?

Article 371 J provides for quota in public employment through local cadres and reservations in education and vocational training institutions for those who belong to the Hyderabad-Karnataka region by birth or by domicile.  The Hyderabad-Karnataka region comprises the districts of Bellary, Bidar, Gulbarga, Yadgir, Raichur, and Koppal.

Eligibility Criteria

Following are the eligibility for HK region residence and eligibility certificate in Karnataka.

1. If he is born in local area, or either of his parents was born in that region before 1.1.2013, or either of his parents ordinarily lived in the local area for more than ten years prior to 1.1.2013 and had their name either in the electoral list or ration card; or owned any immovable property on or before 1.1.2013 in the local area; or 

2. In cases where a minimum educational qualification has been prescribed for admission,-

   (i) If he has studied in an educational institution or educational institutions in such local area for a period of not less than Ten consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination; or

   (ii) Where during the whole or any part of the Ten consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he appeared or as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination he has not studied in any educational institution, if he has resided in that local area for a period of not less than Ten year immediately preceding the date of commencement of the qualifying examination in which he appeared or as the case may be, first appeared; or

   (iii) Where either of his parents has studied in an Educational Institution in such Local area for a period of Ten consecutive academic years.

3. In cases where no minimum educational qualification has been prescribed for admission, if he or either of his parents has resided in that local area for a period of not less than Ten years immediately preceding the date on which the seat is notified for admission; and

4. A woman (from outside Hyderabad-Karnataka region) who marries a local person also becomes eligible for the benefits.

• Go to Nadakacheri home page.

• Click on “Online Application”.

• Click on"Apply Online".

• Enter the mobile number.

• Click on "Get OTP" to receive OTP on your mobile number.

• Click on ‘New Request’.

• Select ‘HK Region Residence and Eligibility Certificate’.

• Choose the language of the certificate -English or Kannada.

• Enter user details.

• Select the Mode of Delivery, as Nadakacheri or Registered Post.

• Upload the required documents for the HK region residence and eligibility certificate.

• Click on ‘Save’.

• Click on ‘Online Payment’.

• Select the Card payment and Card type.

• Click on ‘Make Payment’.

• After successful payment, ACK no. will appear in concerned Nadakacheri’s for further process of application. The final certificate will be obtained from the concerned Nadakacheri center.

• Click on Issued Documents.

• Click on Check Partners Section.

• Select partner name as "Revenue Department- Nadakacheri, Karnataka" and service as "HK Region Residence and Eligibility Certificate".

• Enter the Acknowledgment Number.

• Click on accept checkbox.

• Click on Get Document.

• Your required document will be fetched and Linked with DigiLocker Account.

• Click on issued documents.

• Click on 'View Document'.
