FASTag is an easy to use, reloadable tag which enables automatic deduction of toll charges and lets you pass through the toll plaza without stopping for the cash transaction. FASTag is linked to a prepaid account from which the applicable toll amount is deducted. The tag employs Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) technology and is affixed to the vehicle's windscreen after the tag account is active.

FASTag is presently operational at 407 toll plazas across national and state highways. More toll plazas will be brought under the FASTag program in the future.

All Toll Fee Plazas on National Highways across the country will have ‘FASTag Lanes’ from 1 st of December 2019.

One hybrid lane will, however, be allowed at every toll plaza to facilitate and monitor over-dimensional or oversized vehicles, where FASTag and other modes of payment will be accepted. This lane will be converted into a FASTag lane in a time-bound manner.

How to get FASTag? [Edit] [Edit]

The tag can be obtained at toll plazas or from banks. Some banks have online forms that can be filled up by interested customers.
