After you get the invitation through express entry, following the document submission, biometrics, passport request and once you get the confirmation of PR (COPR) and after receiving a PR Card, you can move to Canada and enjoy the benefits of being a Canadian Citizen. Also, PR Card is issued for 5 years and once you have completed 2 years out of 5 years, you can request an extension of another 5 years. You can continue as a Canadian Permanent Resident as long as you keep crossing the current threshold of 2 years out of 5 years.

Now, if you have plans to be a Canadian Citizen, you can apply for the same after completing 3 years of stay in Canada within the 5 years or the extended period. According to the current legislation, a PR holder is eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship once he complete 3 years stay in Canada. Hope this answer your question.
