Depends on duration of back-date

Back dated rent agreement are easily found-able. Now the stamp paper generated electronically that is E-stamp paper.

When we generate e-stamp paper, current year, date and time reflect on header of e-stamp paper by default, This gives better identity of agreement generation date, Below image for your reference.

Now comes to back dated,

Generally rent agreement is executed for 11 months, Execution date can lag few days or month within agreement cycle.

For example:

If you rent a property on 1st Jan 2019. Hence the 11 month rent cycle is 1st Jan 2019 to 30th November 2019. Though you took the possession of rent property on 1st Jan 2019 , you shall execute rent agreement within the rent cycle and as much close to possession date, say 1st February 2019 but not beyond the rent cycle of 30th November 2019.

Back dated rent agreement with in rental cycle is accepted by many institution and organisation in India like Opening bank account, gas application, passport application and job application.

What one should not do is, change the actual continent of possession date, transaction details for fraudulent purpose.
