  Why is obtaining a legal heir certificate in telangana so complicated? I've been informed by several people that I need to get a family membership certificate. When i eventually did submit for the FMC I was informed I dont qualify as my father wasn't a government employee. Hence, was asked to go to the district courts and submit the application. On getting there, i was told i cannot submit the application as it requires to come through an advocate. On having sought the support of an advocate he came up with a complex mechanism and a 6% court fee for property value, which is not related to legal heir and we weren't selling property.
