If your marriage is as per the Hindu Marriage Act, visit the registrar office with the following documents to get a Marriage Certificate in Kerala.

  • 2 copies of Marriage Report
  • Proof of Identity and Age
  • Proof of marriage
  • If it is not the first marriage of the spouse, then death certificate/divorce details of the previous spouse 
  • Application form in court stamp fee of INR 5 to local and district Registrar for forgiving the delay in marriage registration

For the Common Marriage Act, visit the registrar office with the following documents to get a Marriage Certificate in Kerala.

  • Application form
  • Application for filing Memorandum of Marriage (Form II)
  • Memorandum for Registration of Marriage in Duplicate (Form No. 1)
  • Passport Size Photos
  • Age Proof Documents - Any of Birth Certificate, SSSLC, Passport, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID card
  • Proof of Marriage - Certificate from Religious Institutions or Certificate from Statutory Officer, MP, MLA, Gazetted Officer, Panchayat Member, Municipal Councillor in Form No. II. (Check Page 4 of the document)
  • Fees to be paid:
    • Registration Fees - INR 100.
    • Fine : 250
    • Certificate fees - INR 20 (For extra certificate - INR 25)
  • A penalty of INR 100 if the marriage certificate is applied after 45 days of marriage.
