How to apply for Aadhaar card for children?

For children below 5 years of age, follow the below steps to apply for Aadhaar card.

  • Visit a nearby Aadhaar enrollment centre and fill the form mentioning the Aadhaar number of one of the parents
  • The address and other demographic details are also to be filled from the parent’s Aadhaar
  • Submit the child's birth certificate
  • The child’s photograph will be taken
  • Thereafter, the Aadhaar executive will hand over the acknowledgment slip that contains the enrollment number. The enrollment number can be used to check the status of Aadhaar.

For children above 5 years of age, follow the below steps to apply for Aadhaar card.

  • Visit a nearby Aadhaar enrollment centre and fill the form
  • Submit the form along with relevant documents to the executive
  • The executive will take child’s biometrics (10 fingerprints, iris scan and photograph)
  • Once the process is completed, an acknowledgment slip will be generated
