How can I edit my mother's name in the birth certificate and school certificate?

If the name of your mother (at the time of your birth) is entered wrongly in the birth register it can be corrected. For this, you may submit the following documents before the concerned Registrar of Births and Deaths.
1)An application for correction in white paper affixing court fee stamp worth Rs 5/-.
2) Satisfactory proof to substantiate your request such as School certificate of your mother or any other official record.
3) Declaration by two credible persons (gaztted officer, Village Officer, Head Master etc) having direct knowledge of the facts of the case.
4) The birth certificate received earlier should also be enclosed with the application. If it is lost irrecoverably and you are not in a position to produce it an affidavit should be given to that effect.
If the registration is prior to 1/4/1970 sanction of Chief Registrar is required.
