How accurate is the legacy data in NRC? What if my name or the name of my ancestors is spelt incorrectly or is recorded wrongly?

Utmost efforts have been made to make the Legacy Data available in exactly the same manner as they appear in the original Legacy Data. Problems, however, might arise due to mistakes (spelling mistake or wrong recording of age) in the original Legacy Data itself. In such cases, any additional documentary proof available would have to be used. The verification team shall have the authority to verify such cases where names are wrongly spelt or nick names of persons and not real names are recorded in the Legacy or truth established through recording of evidence in the field by Govt. officials.
