You need to have settlement funds. These funds are you to live in Canada for 6months without a job to support you and your family.  Examples are if you are single you need $13.5K. For a family of 4, you need roughly $21K etc.

Yes. You need to show proof of funds to migrate to Canada. The requirement of proof of funds varies with the number of family members. 

As of 04 November 2021, this is the fund requirement according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Department. Hope this answers your question.
