No, buying health insurance via bank won’t get you all the benefits as bought from an agent.  
Benefits.

  • Comparatively Low Premium
  • No PED Waiting period

Drawbacks.

  • No Continuity Guarantee on the plan
  • No Portability Benefits from the insurer
  • Lack of Post-sale Service
  • It could have Maximum age Limit. You might not be eligible for another insurance once it’s done due to your health-conditions in later age.

Never expect bank (the seller) or customer-care people (insurer) to do follow ups or documentations, during reimbursement claims settlements, endorsements or any process delays. 
 

My Suggestion.

 Buy it from a consultant with good track record who can compare multiple insurers and get you with the best suitable plan for family.  Or from a reliable advisor/agent whom you
